You don't often hear of an automaker making two separate recalls for gas tank fires in the same day, but Mazda is here to show you anything is possible. The automaker says some 2014-2016 Mazda3 cars have gas tanks that were damaged during manufacturing. The inlet check valve can fail over time, allowing gas to pour out onto hot surfaces. That's a recipe for disaster.

Speaking of disasters, additional 2016 Mazda3's are being recalled because they have deformed gas tanks that leak through recirculation pipe welds. All in all, it's not a good day to be a Mazda3 gas tank ... or a Mazda3 owner.
